Up up and away....

We gathered in Eugene yesterday with our truckload of luggage. Mel, our favorite Alaska air manager, checked us in with a wink and a nod (and of course a smile) as she took our numerous oversize, overweight bags and waived any extra fees, and gave us a letter asking subsequent airlines to do the same (our first God sighting). Smooth flying to Portland and San Francisco, where we found one alpha-male commander of the check-in counter at EVA Air with a full line of lovely Asian attendants checking us in. What happened next blew us away (another Jesus Moment...) we were only ticketed as far as Vietnam...where we would have to get our truckload of bags and go back through getting them registered (and pay big bucks likely for overage fees). This military-like leader ran the line at check-in informing his crew of young ladies to call down and have all of our luggage retagged all the way to our final destination. We gathered as a group in prayer for this "help from above" and flew all night (14 hrs) to our current destination (Taipei Taiwan). Unfortunately Tyree got booked on a flight that left an hour before ours accidentally, so she's headed out ahead of us and will hopefully be greeting us with a "Welcome to Vietnam" sign at Ho chi Min City airport when we arrive in 4 hours. We were notified that two of the Dryden's checked bags were having trouble being found to be re-tagged in San Fran so prayers for their moving forward are appreciated. All is well, feeling rested (as much as 16 hrs jet lag allows) and riding the wave with the Spirit to our final destination tonight (Cambodia). Post By Ron E.
